Q: What is the Encore™ Procedure?
A: The Encore™ Procedure is a new therapy that can potentially treat obstructive sleep apnea. It is a minimally invasive surgical procedure where the tongue is advanced forward with an implant so that the airway passages remain open.

Q: How does the procedure work?
A: The Encore™ Procedure can be conducted by an ENT Specialist. A suspension loop is implanted in the tongue and is attached to the chin with a bone anchor. Tension on the suspension loop advances the tongue in order to open the airway.

Q: Is it painful?
A: This is a surgical treatment, so patients undergoing this procedure may have discomfort lasting several days.

Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: The procedure is conducted in the operating room and may take approximately 45 minutes.
